We, Paige Fernandes, MSc, and Gordana Perunicic-Stankovic, MSc, PM&R Dipl., ACLM/IBLM, are two passionate healthcare professionals from the long-term care and retirement sectors that have embarked
on an inspiring journey of wellness amidst the trials of the COVID-19 pandemic. Our dedication to making a difference is fueled by our extensive education, professional backgrounds, and firsthand experience in the field.

Co-Founder
Gordana Perunicic-Stankovic
Msc, PM&R Dipl., ACLM/IBLM
Gordana is a highly accomplished health professional with over 25 years of experience in physiotherapy and medical practices. With a dual physiotherapy and medical license, a Master's of Science in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, and recognition for excellence in her field, Gordana has become a respected clinician, educator, and mentor.

In addition to her impressive background, Gordana has a passion for Lifestyle Medicine and has spent the past seven years applying Lifestyle Medicine principles to her practices. She completed several Harvard Lifestyle Medicine CME courses and earned her Lifestyle Medicine certification in 2020, becoming a Dipl. ACLM/IBLM.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Gordana demonstrated her unwavering commitment to healthcare by dedicating her physiotherapy practice to frontline clinical work at a long-term care and retirement home, where she served as the Head of Physiotherapy.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Gordana is a former athlete, sports fan (especially of tennis), and proud mother of two young professionals. Her extensive knowledge and expertise in healthcare make her an invaluable asset to the industry and those she serves.

Paige Fernandes
MSc
Paige is a passionate advocate for mental health and wellness, having lived an active lifestyle for over a decade. She firmly believes that taking care of oneself is the key to managing stress, and she's made it her mission to help others do the same. As a certified personal trainer with a Master's in Science in Public Health and Health Systems, Paige incorporates evidence-based research into her work, helping others make sustainable lifestyle changes for optimal physical and mental health.

With her physiotherapist colleague and friend, Paige recognized the tremendous stress and burnout facing her colleagues in the long-term care and retirement home sector due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Together, they developed and implemented a successful wellness program for staff at the long-term care and retirement home where they worked. Paige and her colleague presented their research and program to various associations and conferences, including the American College of Lifestyle Medicine Conference 2021.

As the president of the Toronto-Leaside Rotary Club, Paige is committed to giving back to her community through volunteer work and sharing her knowledge with others. She regularly speaks at professional conferences and club meetings across Ontario, inspiring others to prioritize their mental and physical health. Paige is dedicated to empowering others to live their best lives, both inside and outside of the community she serves.
